Provenance: Raffled off in 1943 by The Adam, Meldrum and Anderson Department Store to benefit the children of servicemen from the area. The winning ticket belonged to Elbert and Rosemary Cercone who claimed the painting and later passed it down to their daughter Mary Gifford, of New Jersey from whom it has been acquired.
