Worden Day studied in New York with some of the leading painters of the day including George Grosz, Jean Charlot, Hans Hofmann, Maurice Sterne and Emilio Amero.  In the 1950's she taught at Pratt, the New School for Social Research and the Art Students League.  Her work is highly respected and is held in numerous public collections, a number of which are listed below.  This example was executed around 1960 before she largely abandoned painting in favor of abstract sculpture.
