Hablot Knight Browne (Phiz)

Desserts and Fruit in a Mountain Landscape

H. K. Browne was an English painter and illustrator famous for the engravings he made for ten of Charles Dicken's novels under the pseudonym of Phiz.  He also made illustrations for books by Charles Lever, Harrison Ainsworth and Frank Smedley.  Although these illustrations were his main source of income as an artist, he also painted portrait, genre and still life oils.
