This charming rendition of a traveler passing a cottage in a valley landscape speaks of a time when a person's feet were the most common mode of transportation. I expect the cottage housewife saw many a passer-by each day. Circa 1780. Estate condition. This original Old Master painting has probably not been professionally cleaned in nearly a century.
